‘As the founder and designer of urban africa it is very important to me to know what my clients like & want before creating a new piece. Knowing someone is such an important contribution to the final piece.

Pieces within the range include handbags, laptop sleeves, satchel & messenger bags, belts, wallets, cardholders, books, footwear & key rings.
Behind each urban africa piece, there is the same vision : minimalistic, elegant, funky, timeless in design, trendy, understated but aspiring.

urban africa is also environmentally conscious. In 2010, the brand dropped the lining for most of its pieces.
These become lighter, softer; glue is nearly nonexistent & the leathers now breathe and are more flexible.

vincent urbain, founder of urban africa, also developed Afrographic.
For Afrographic, Women from Khayelitsha, one of South Africa’s biggest townships, are employed to handstitch the little keyrings that vincent sends all over the place.
